Photos and comments on the anti-war protest in DC

Support our Troops!I’m back and I’ll have a lot to post, but for now I’m uploading photos and captions to the gallery as quickly as I can. I was able to interview several protesters and I’ve included those snippets as well.

[Update 9.26 10:34 AM EDT] Thanks to Brendan from The Conservative Revolution for letting me know about the uproar his Protest Warriors caused at the demonstration:

My group of now 30 or so gathered at 13th and Pennsylvania, symbolically in front of the Reagan Building, and waited for the Leftists to approach. We scattered our group out in smaller groups and placed them on all four sides of the intersection. As the Leftists came within 50 yards of us, we all ran out into the middle of the street, right in front of their parade! We faced toward the Capitol and began to march, chanting “U.S.A. U.S.A.” The Leftists behind us had no idea what our signs said. In fact, at first they thought that we were with them!

As we approached the Pro-Troops groups lined along Pennsylvania and 7th, we became louder. At first, they shouted at us, thinking we were with the Leftists. But once they realized what had just happened, they erupted in cheers and laughter. Protest Warrior had pulled a fast one on A.N.S.W.E.R., which angered them very much.

I was there today and the anti-war march in Washington.

I can tell that you don't like what you saw, but you really did accurately capture the flavor of the whole event in your pictures (when taken as a whole).

A few quibbles - 1) the guy in front of the White House with the cross looked like a long-term nutcase demonstrator; nothing to do with the day's events. 2) The picture of the speakers' platform was taken AFTER all the audience had wandered off 3) You missed the young ladies at 14th and Pennsylvania demonstrating "Breasts are natural, war is not!"

Otherwise, you nailed it.

What a hive of self-satisfied "revolutionaries."

(Hey you should fix those "Next Page" links on the higher numbered pages. They keep pointing back to Page 6.)

You obviously went to a lot of work doing this, and I thank and commend you for it. The more that the average American sees the real face and true nature of these people the more marginalized they will become. Thank God for the internet. It's a crime that the news media haven't presented an honest representation of what they're really about--what they've always been about.

Thanks for the pics of the demonstration. I heard that the Move America Forward people supporting the troops weren't even on the main stream media or C-Span. I also heard from a friend that was their supporting the troops that the D.C. police were very professional and the Move America Forward group was thankful for them.

Followed a link from LGF. Great blog and great documentation of why the left have become raving loonies and are no longer being taken seriously by most Americans.

Great work. These pictures speak for themselves.
The peace activeist should Thank God and the American Patriots that have sacaficied, so people of all views can have an event
of this sort. They also should take time to view the History Channel to see what evil people will do
when allowed to.

Chris,

Great job on the photo documentation, loved the "W" section! I'm looking forward to C-Span's coverage today of "Support the Troops" rally in DC. Semper Gumby - always flexible!

Chris, thank you so much for capturing the flavor of the zoo. Some of the faces I've seen before (same tired "professonal protesters"). Wonder how much they get paid for showing up? All "useful idiots". It's the "hate America" crowd at their best. I notice most look just hateful. The crazy dude in front of the White house fits perfectly with this crowd, a brick shy of a full load all! Would love to fact check some of the protesters who said they were vets to find out if they really were. Again, thanks for posting pictures of our village idiots, you know it "takes a village" to raise them. I always thought they fell off trees!

Truely you people have forgotten that your freedom has been purchased by the shedding of blood. Our ancestors fought for the freedoms that we now possess. Maybe we should go back to a dictatorship like Iraq had before we went over there. How about that then for those who don't like it, how about they just kill you, and your family. You people have no idea. One day this nation will not have the freedom it has now. The time is at hand. Yahweh, The God of Israel, Elah will judge this nation.

Chris,

Great job on covering the event. Good pictures, good interviews, much more informative than ‘traditional media’ coverage. I am proud to live in a county where thousands of people on opposite sides of a divisive issue can peacefully gather and present their opinions. The shame is that only one side is willing to fight to preserve this freedom…

Enjoyed your pix on the DC protest event -especially happy to see some of it devoted to the pro-Bush/military side.
I'm a PW (Protest Warrior) in Tampa, Florida, and wanted to go to DC to support the troops' side as well but was unable to get the time off (I do, however, "fight the left" in St. Pete on most weekends). I noticed that the hate-crowd seemed almost identical to the one in St. Pete, FL. Same angry messages, same vulgarity, same contradictions and same lack of reality.
All in all, an excellent reflection on the whacky left as it stands today.
I'll be back. Thanks for the picture show.

The one glaring omission in your report was the fact that Protest Warrrior DC Chapter actually infiltrated the FRONT of the protest march, and as we approached the pro-troops supporters, they erupted in cheers.

We began chanting USA! USA! and the Washington Post reported that the anti-war people were doing this, when in fact, it was the DC chapter of PW.

The story is on my blog: www.TheConservativeRevolution.com

Hey guys! Just wondering when all you Republicans between 18 and 36 will put your money where your mouth is and actually enlist. That way, you can actually "support the troops" by being one of them, and you can help to defend America.

You all seem like nice, healthy young people. Why not walk the walk for a change and enlist...or are you all just so much talk?
